Works great, good power, and lots of options July 26, 2010 janettis This has lots of options and great power, especially for the money. Great deal on a great power inverter!
Toast July 16, 2010 KevinH This thing only produces 105 VAC with the car engine off and 85 VAC with the car engine on. Obviously no testing done at the plant in China. Back for a refund.
No complaints! July 15, 2010 JLA76 I recently purchased this to be used on our family vacation road trip. Having bought a cheaper version from Radio Shack in a previous year (that subsequently didn't work, really) I was skeptical. But, this thing was great. I was easily able to plug in phones, Nintendo DS and iPad and have them all charging with no hiccups.
If you have kids, are going on road trips and have many different devices that you know you'll need along the way: this is for you. It's great!
Works great...for a couple days July 13, 2010 Reed G-J I purchased this inverter after seeing good reviews about it, and because I was going on a month-long road trip and needed an inverter to charge camera batteries and run a laptop from time to time. I had checked to be sure that I would never need to draw more than the 150W rated for the cigarette lighter cord. When I received the inverter from Amazon, I noticed that there was a piece of plastic rattling around inside it, but it didn't look like it served any purpose and didn't affect the performance.
After about 5 days on the road and using the inverter maybe three times to charge camera batteries or run a laptop while downloading pictures, it suddenly stopped working. After a lot of checking, we finally determined that the car fuse had blown for that socket. After finally finding replacement fuses (a whole other story), we put them in and tried the inverter again, this time without anything plugged into it. The instant we plugged it into the car socket, "pop" went the fuse. So it had gone dead after a couple hours worth of use. Great, one of the critical items on this trip just fried itself. We ended up buying a replacement inverter made by Duracell that worked like a champ through the rest of the trip.
While this product looked nice on paper, I am very disappointed in its performance in real world use.
Dead on arrival July 7, 2010 Mike S. (Staten Island, NY USA) Completely dead, never worked. I will attempt to return/ or just chuck. I only tried to charge my cell phone, so I'm sure I did not exceed capacity.
