i bought this item in hopes of getting rid of the smell in my car from previous wet carpet which left a fould odor, but this item only lasted for nearly 1 1/2 months. just wish i can get rid or at least cover up that mildew smell

If you need scent relief in your ride, this is the one to get. Make sure you get squash aroma. I don't know why it's called squash, think citrusy-fruity-bubble gum.

Squash might not be for everybody, but I love it. Its the only air freshner that pretty much everyone who gets into my car wants to know about. I tend to just buy the Air Spencer refill and keep it under my seat. The scent will be very strong for the first few days. I get maybe a month out of it before I have to replace it.

All I wanted was a powerful, good smelling car scent. Read the reviews and once again I was inclined to believe the words. Some had said that it smell kind of strong but that eventually it would fade out which was exactly what I was looking for. A nice smelling, powerful car scent. Just to contradict those that gave it high rating I am giving it 2 Stars. I guess this whole thing is okey. The dispenser and the extra refills came out to be over $60.00. Once again I bit the dust for in the end they worked only partially. Do not get me wrong, I have a very nice car that I keep always clean so my desire to have a fragrant car had nothing to do with anything else but my predilection for a nice smelling, hopefully citrus, car interior. The packaging was great and promptly delivered. The only thing that may be hindering the so called qualities of this product could be that we are in the middle of winter and that makes the fragrance less strong. That is one theory but with the heater on, shouldn't it all come in full force? Perhaps it deserves at least 3 stars but with all the hoopla and high fives I thought I might as well bring down the overall rating, revengeful fool that I am. No, really, more for a more realistic evaluation of the product. It is not that strong that you will need to open windows and it does not last as long as they said it would. So far only so good. 2 Stars.
PS UPDATE: 6/11/10 Now that it is summer the smell is even less but found out it does work marvels for trash cans and so, perhaps because of their reduced space? Sucks for cars, Rules for Trash Cans! Long Live the FIFA World Cup!
