 Item discontinued, old stock, does not work July 23, 2010

I bought this item new just a week ago and the date of manufacture was 9/25/2006. This item has been discontinued, the battery is old stock and won't hold a charge and it will not charge a common cell phone from the USB port. I plug in my Motorola flip phone using a micro USB cable and nothing happens. I cannot return it because I lost the packaging. Total junk. Amazon needs to pull this item from their shelves. Four year old batteries are worthless......

Bought the Powersouce to extend the play time of our portable LCD TV - works great. Takes about 3-1/2 hours to charge, runs our little TV for 5-1/2 hours, nice to have when you're sitting in the dark during a power outage. Small enough to take on the road for laptop, iPod, etc, use. This is a pretty good short-term power supply for USB or AC charging up to 100 Watts or so. For my cell phone charger it lasted about 20 minutes which was enough to charge the phone from about the 20% level. The major disadvantage is that it does not allow simultaneous AC charging of the unit and usage of the device. You can use charge and use it with DC charging (eg. in a car cigarette lighter). It also does heat up quite a bit, but it is tolerable.
