4 out of 5 stars Great product!   July 13, 2010

I already have 2 of these binders that I bought a few years ago, and I use them to store all of my DVD's. I either dispose of the original cases or put them in storage - unless the case looks really cool, like the one that holds all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1 :)

The whole point of purchasing these binders is to save space. Hey, these binders aren't just to store CD's! And trust me, it's a lot easier to organize DVD's in this type of binder rather than organize them on a large bookshelf. Not convinced? Time to close your eyes and use your visualization skills. Imagine storing 128 DVD's in their original cases - or even in the skinny cheapo cases - on a bookshelf, as you stack them side by side. That's a lot of DVD's, huh? Now. Imagine one binder containing 128 DVD's sitting on one end of the bookshelf... so lonely... so desperate for company. OK, so I'm sounding dorky, but I'm sure that you get the idea ;)

And what if you are moving to a new apartment? Easy packing, and you don't have to reorganize your DVD collection all over again on the bookshelf. It's already done!

Here is how I organize my DVD's: First, I number each binder, then I create a spreadsheet for each binder. The spreadsheet shows each movie or series titles, and where each disc is located. Voila! Looking for "As Good As It Gets"? It's in binder number 3, page 8. Looking for Season 3, disc 2 of "Frasier"? It's in binder 2, page 21. Ta-da!

You can organize your titles however you want: by genre, by series, alphabetically, etc.

1 out of 5 stars Case Logic quality going downhill - and Amazon, too?   May 15, 2010

Originally ordered a Case Logic 128/144-CD case AND a Case Logic 264/280 CD wallet, and had PROBLEMS WITH BOTH:

1. The picture of this Case Logic 128/144-CD wallet shows a removable "Fast File" that stores 16 CDs. THIS IS WRONG. Nothing is removable. Now it's much cheaper, with slots sewn into the inside of the front cover.

2. The Case Logic 264/280-CD wallet is thicker than the Amazon dimensions (mine was 5" and Amazon says it's 3.8") and too heavy/bulky when full and the zipper wouldn't zip so I returned it for two Case Logic 128-CD holders, like the one I'd just ordered, but this time they were shipped from a different Amazon supplier, so I hoped they would have the removable "Fast File" STILL in the Amazon photo AND on the suppliers website (WRONG! - NO removable Fast File!)

3. WORSE - THE CD PAGES of BOTH 128/144-CD cases WERE 1/4" SHORTER than the same 128/144-CD wallet I'd just purchased the week before! So in the top row, the CDs came right to the top edge of the (cheap) fabric with no room for protection, and on the bottom edge, they were rubbing against the narrow plastic strip (from the bottom of the top row) that would have scratched the top of all my DVDs.

4. These Case Logic pages aren't made with any room to spare, so that 1/4" loss makes a big difference. For those interested, here are the pages lengths (top to bottom) of the CD wallets I purchased:
a. Case Logic 264/280 page length: 10" (just barely enough room)
b. Case Logic 128/144 page length: slightly less than 10" (less than 1/16th of an inch less than 10")
c. 2nd order of TWO Case Logic 128/144 page length: BOTH WERE 9 3/4"

5. I told Amazon about the incorrect "Fast File" photo & description and also about the incorrect dimensions of the Case Logic 264/280-CD wallet a week ago and they STILL haven't changed anything on their site.

6. I called Case Logic to let them know about the defective/cheap 128/144 CD cases - and they basically just said "so return them." Wow - not impressed. But then, that's what the suppliers AND AMAZON said, also.

Caveat emptor, eh?

Product was better than I expected. Has CD sleeves/pockets in front cover in addition to those on the pages.

We decided to put all of our mystery dvd sets in this walletCase Logic® CD/DVD Wallet Holds 144 CDs, Nylon, Black. I know there are bigger sizes that hold more but we didn't want it too heavy to work with. This is adequate for our needs. It has the row of spaces inside the front cover where we put the liner notes of the movies and we were able to fit in all our mystery dvd sets of Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and Quincy with room to spare. Very pleased with the quality. I've used Case Logic products before and we've had a couple of the smaller binders with computer games discs stored in it for years and never had a problem with scratching discs or the zippers. In all the years we've only had one small tear in one of the storage pockets but that's it.
